Have you watched the first 5 minutes of Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front? If so, you know there are some pretty cute foxes, captured in an intimate and unique setting.
After doing very well at the BAFTAs including Best Cinematography, it was up for 9 Academy Awards. It just won the Oscar for Best Cinematography! Huge Congrats to James Friend and his entire team including Robert Hollingworth!
BAFTA-nominated Director of Photography, Robert Hollingworth shot that opening scene using some specialized gear– a silent, super-accurate gantry system he used for remote camera positioning and control. That gantry system is being used in all sorts of productions that Robert and his team are involved with.
What powers his live gantry system? eMotimo’s first generation stand-alone controller. We have been secretly field-testing this device for over a year. The results have been great, and the use cases for a controller like this continue to grow.
Instead of making this exact controller, we are taking what we have learned from these long-term tests, and making it better. We have been in stealth mode R&D to add a lot of new features and capabilities. We plan on releasing our first new stand-alone controller next quarter and we are going to start talking about it soon.
