We have been longtime eMotimo users and still love the original Dana Dolly system we purchased nearly five years ago. It has been a reliable part of our workflow, and we continue to use it frequently. Because of that experience, we had high expectations for the Monorail.
Unfortunately, this system did not feel as refined or as production-ready as the Dana Dolly setup we already own. The concept is excellent, and I can see the potential, but the execution feels closer to a beta product than something ready for commercial-scale use.
Some of the issues are in the small details. For example, the sensor setup feels like it should have been more fully integrated, possibly enclosed with the motor assembly rather than feeling like a separate, exposed component. That kind of design choice makes the system feel less polished and less robust than expected, especially for a product intended for professional environments.
To be clear, this is not a criticism of the idea behind the Monorail. The idea is awesome, and eMotimo has made products we genuinely like and rely on. But compared with our previous eMotimo/Dana Dolly experience, this one did not meet the same standard of packaging, fit, finish, or confidence-inspiring design.
I wanted to love it, but at this stage it feels like a promising system that still needs refinement before I would consider it fully ready for serious production work.
